Linoleic acid is an essential fatty acid which produces prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are found in every cell and are important to maintaining health. Numerous clinical studies appear to show that CLA improves body composition by reducing fat while preserving muscle tissue, but more studies are needed. Tonalin® is the licensed brand name of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).

CLA is an omega-6 fatty acid first discovered in the early 1980’s that continues to be studied for its diverse applications in promoting good health. Tonalin® CLA is made through a proprietary process that converts the linoleic acid derived from safflower oil to conjugated linoleic acid.
