How it works

Goldenseal’s immune-supporting properties are largely due to its hydrastine, berberine and canadine alkaloids. These constituents have been known to help support the mucous membranes that line the respiratory, digestive and urinary tracts.

Harvesters are taught how to propagate the roots, leaving part of the system in place for future gleaning (after two years or more). The Story Behind Goldenseal

Native Americans traditionally used goldenseal to support the respiratory, digestive and urinary systems. Early 20th century herbalists considered it a critical herb for stomach and intestinal issues.

Golden seal is native to North America and is often used for immune system support. Golden seal is a member of the buttercup family and is characterized by its delicate flowers and thick rootstock.
